The Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) is holding its 2nd state conference at Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, Public Gardens, Nampally here on April 29 and 30. Justice C K Prasad, Chairman of the Press Council of India (PCI) will inaugurate the conference.

Secunderabad: The Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) is holding its 2nd state conference at Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, Public Gardens, Nampally here on April 29 and 30. Justice C K Prasad, Chairman of the Press Council of India (PCI) will inaugurate the conference.

He will also inaugurate a seminar, which is jointly organised by Media Education Foundation India (MEFI) and TUWJ on Indian Democracy - Elections, in connection with the conference on April 29 at 11 am. Prof Trilochan Sastry, Chairman, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), an advocacy group for free and fair electoral process in the country, will deliver the key note address at the seminar. Prof Madabhushi Sridhar, former Central Information Commissioner will speak on the subject.

Indian Journalists Union (IJU) President Amar Devulapalli, Secretary General Sabina Inderjit, former President S N Sinha, Senior Editor and advisor of the TUWl, K Sreenivas Reddy, and senior journalists in the state will participate in the seminar.

And the elected delegates, special invitees about 300 members will participate in the conference. The conference is expected to discuss challenges to freedom of the press, safety and welfare of journalists and other issues concerning the freedom of expression and formulate action plan to defend ethical and independent journalism.
