Dharna Chowk: The candidates who have appeared for written exam conducted in February 2018, for linemen and sub-engineer posts in Transco, staged protest here on Friday condemning the delay in declaring the results and merit list.

Speaking to media during the protest, protestors expressed their ire at the delay in the announcement of results and merit list. They said that most of them have crossed age limits for appearing for competitive exams and have kept hope on the results but the delay in announcing the results have left them dejected.

They may be forced to resort to commit extreme steps such as suicides if it is further delayed, they warned. They appealed the government to ensure clearance of legal hurdles for the announcement of results at the earliest. About 50,000 candidates have appeared for the exams held for recruiting 1,100 posts.

Congress leaders Addanki Dayakar, Kathi Venkataswamy and Shobhan visited the protest site and extended their support to protestors. Among those who participated in the protest include Srinivas, Anil, Shravani, Indumathi, Adinarayana, Praveen, Sandeep, Sanjay and others.
