TS BJP chief slams KCR for cheating Dalits
BJP State President Dr K Lakshman lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for cheating Dalits and the architect of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar.
Tank Bund: BJP State President Dr K Lakshman lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for cheating Dalits and the architect of Indian Constitution Dr BR Ambedkar. Dr Lakshman performed 'palabhishekam', cleansing with milk, of the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at Lower Tank Bund on Thursday and planted a neem sapling before the proposed spot where KCR inaugurated the construction of Dr Ambedkar Bhavan three-and-a- half-years ago. "Let's see which one grows faster, the proposed building or the neem tree," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Lakshman accused the Chief Minister of cheating Dalits by promising them that the first CM of the state would be from the Dalit community, but he himself became CM. The CM also failed to keep his promise of giving three acres of land to every landless Dalit family, he lamented
Lakshman alleged that the funds under SC, ST Sub-Plan were diverted by the State government for other works. Another promise that the CM made to Dalits, i.e, installing a 125-ft Ambedkar statue at Necklace Road, also remained unfulfilled, he said. While the government failed to allocate Rs 30 crore for Ambedkar Bhavan, it proposes to build a Secretariat building with an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore, he ridiculed. BJP leader said that he would strive to raise awareness on injustice being done to Dalit community and fight until TRS government was dethroned.
Among those who were present on the occasion include state president of BJYM Bharath Goud, Srinivas Yadav, Itikyala Lingam, Malla Reddy, Kondapalli Madhav, PS Chari, Naveen, Parimal Kumar, Sai Krishna Yadav, Suresh Mudiraj, Dilip Yadav, Santosh and others.
