As a gesture of communal amity, Mahant Arun Das Udasin Baba organised Iftar party to the Muslim leaders and traders at Hussaini Alam on Friday. The party was also attended by local police officials.

Reflecting the brotherhood, Iftar was organised for the devout at the 400-year-old mutt. The local Muslim leaders were offered dates to break the fast by Baba on the occasion. Explaining about the phenomenon, Mahant Arun Das Udasin Baba said that the mutt started Iftar party in the last year and would continue in the future.
He said that it is receiving good response. He said that the amity developed throughout this month is a good example of how different communities share their festivities. Udasin Baba said that understanding each other and respecting each other's religion would definitely reduce the schisms and develop brotherhood.
The Iftar party was surely one such platform to show unity between Hindus and Muslims. He called upon to sideline all kinds of differences for the sake of cementing unity. On the occasion, he offered dates, fruit and juices to those who took part in the Iftar party.
K Ramesh, CI at Hussaini Alam, said that taking part in this kind of Iftar parties irrespective of religious backgrounds would strengthen the society. Yousuf Ali Khan, representing Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, recalled the years of friendship with the Baba.
