Launching the Digital Wellness website set up by the e-Learning Centre at the University of Hyderabad here on Thursday, the Vice-President lauded the efforts being made by the university in launching good quality and relevant online courses. The University has lofty and appreciable plans on expanding its activities, he said.

The Digital Wellness website was launched to educate internet users of all age groups on the benefits and using it in a manner that would not affect their well-being. The website was set up as part of the campaign activity of the international consortium that the e-Learning Centre is leading with four other universities from abroad in order to spread awareness on information ethics and digital wellness.

The e-Learning Centre hopes to expand its activities in association with the Ministry of Electronic and Information Technology (MEITY) to inform, educate and engage with cyber users on various screens while still taking care of their mental and physical health, and safety.

Director of the e-Learning Centre, Prof J Prabhakar Rao said the Centre had submitted a detailed project proposal to Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to set up a world-class Digital Learning Studies, Training and Resources Centre.

The Centre had already entered into a number of academic and industry collaborations both nationally and internationally to help it provide good quality online courses and in using the latest technologies to enhance accessibility to all sections.Vice-Chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile presided over the launch in the presence of Dr V K Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog.
