Charminar: Damaged road of Mitti ka Sher near Gulzar Houz remains unattended to by the authorities, posing danger to school going children and senior citizens. After completion of laying of pipelines, the road has been left abandoned, without any repairs for the past 6 months.

According to locals, the CC roads laid a few years ago were dug up by HMWSSB for laying of pipelines about six months ago. But even after completion of works, the road restoration has been left unattended.

The residents have given several representations to the Waterworks officials like Deputy General Manager and Work Inspector to repair the road during the civic works undertaken by the department, but in vain – "They are paying no heed to the requests by the locals to solve problems like damaged road.''

The parents of schoolchildren also expressed concern over the problems being faced by their wards while going to nearby schools like Shiva Datta school. Adding to it, the rainy season is causing water stagnation on the stretch, making commuters as well as pedestrians trip and fall. "Some of the students on the way to school also fell due to the dug-up road. We hope that the authorities repair the road as soon as possible," said Ahmed who took up the issue with the officials.

"I shall be making a representation demanding tough action against them at the head office of the Waterworks. It is their duty to repair the road after the works like laying of pipelines are over. How can they not take up the matter?" he questioned in angst.
