American Oncology Institute (AOI), a chain of cancer hospitals founded by a team of cancer care experts from UPMC, Pittsburgh, USA, is organising a bi-monthly teaching programme, in coordination with the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, Telangana Chapter, on Saturday at the Auditorium of American Oncology Institute here.

Hyderabad: American Oncology Institute (AOI), a chain of cancer hospitals founded by a team of cancer care experts from UPMC, Pittsburgh, USA, is organising a bi-monthly teaching programme, in coordination with the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, Telangana Chapter, on Saturday at the Auditorium of American Oncology Institute here.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Babaiah, Medical Director of the Institute, said, "The objective of the programme is to educate and upgrade latest trends in the cancer care to the young upcoming oncologists and PG students" Around 70 post graduate students from the entire State of Telangana and Radiation Oncologists are expected to participate in the workshop.

There would also be a live interaction with Prof John Armstrong of University of Dublin, Ireland, who will be sharing his experience and expertise in treating brain tumours. As a part of the teaching programme, a quiz on treating brain tumours will be organised for young doctors and the winners will be awarded.

The teaching programme will include various keynote presentations by American Oncology Institute Doctors team, Dr Sudha Sinha, Sr consultant medical oncologist, Dr Mirza Athar Ali, consultant radiation oncologist, Dr Arpitha S, consultant radiation oncologist, Dr Shiva Prasad, radiologist, and Dr Kiran, pathologist from AMPATH.
