House sites distribution: 900 layouts getting ready across Visakhapatnam district

Visakhapatnam: All arrangements are in place to distribute house sites to the poor in 900 layouts across the district, Tourism Minister M Srinivasa Rao said here on Tuesday.
The house site distribution programme will be taken up in every constituency under the supervision of the respective MLAs, the Minister mentioned at a conference held at the Collectorate.
The value of each site would be approximately Rs 20 lakh, Srinivasa Rao said. "The land for the poor will be given away to the beneficiaries in a transparent manner beyond caste, creed and religion. It is one of the best schemes doled out by the State government," the Minister reiterated.
Earlier, in a review meeting with the officials concerned, the Minister directed the officials to develop necessary infrastructure in the layouts readied for the distribution of house sites.
As a part of the first phase, District Collector V Vinay Chand said, "1.16 lakh house pattas in rural areas, 26,438 TIDCO houses, and 50,000 houses under VMRDA limits will be distributed to the beneficiaries."
With the scheme in place, the Minister said, there will not be any homeless poor in the State.
