New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate is reported to have sent a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs on the alleged link between the Shaheen Bagh protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the radical outfit Popular Front of India (PFI). The ED report is believed to have stated that donations to PFI had risen sharply prior to the Shaheen Bagh protests.

The report was therefore, sent to the Home Ministry to probe the link between PFI and the Shaheen Bagh protests. The ED reportedly submitted that there are 73 bank accounts directly or indirectly related to the PFI with an inflow of over 120 crore rupees.

Interestingly, the ED report is also believed to have mentioned the names of Congress leader Udit Raj and AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh. According to the report, Udit Raj is said to have been in touch with Mohammed Parvez a top PFI leader, as per media reports.

The ED report is further reported to state that half the donations received by PFI were in cash.

Moreover, one third of the money, as per the ED report, was kept in PFI's national headquarters situated at Shaheen Bagh, media sources state.
