The local parties will play a huge role in this election as citizens across all states are keen on dethroning Modi.

After taking over the reins of the party following the decease of his father M Karunanidhi, DMK president MK Stalin, is leading in a general election for the first time. In an interview, he speaks about a array of concerns including the party's stand in the event of the third front emerging victorious after the polls. When asked about the campaign coming close, how does he rate the prospects on his front, to which he said there is evident resentment against the Modi and AIADMK governments. Individuals are ready to vote for the Secular Progressive Front led by the DMK. All the 40 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be won by us.

He was then asked if in case of a hung Parliament, the DMK will support the BJP with or without Modi at the helm. He answered; local parties will play a huge role in this election as citizens across all states are keen on dethroning Modi, as altogether everyone had undergone grief from the hands of the central government.

He was then questioned about DMK's stand if the third front emerges as the deciding factor with the SP, BSP, TRS and YSRC playing a major role? To which he replied that our aim is to overthrow the fascist BJP government and form a new government controlled by Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

When asked if the DMK gets enough numbers with the support of the allies, will he form the government or seek dissolution of the assembly? He said he will come to a conclusion after checking with the association partners.

On what basis has he been claiming during the campaign that the present AIADMK government will fall? To which he answered, Edappadi's is a smaller government. It remains in office only because of the Centre's support, violating all constitutional norms. Polls will fetch about a transformation both at the Centre as well as in the state.

When asked about how do you rate TTV Dhinakaran and his party AMMK? He replied that in a democracy, new parties arise and some vanish. It is a contest between those who have control and those who lost it. We will know how people view it, on May 23.

He was also asked about his son Udayanidhi being a star campaigner in this election and will he be given any formal post in the party? To which he graciously thanked the media for showering him with love.
