Social media erupts into memes after Maharashtra CM gets sworn in
The impending issue in Maharashtra had people waiting as to who would form the government in the coastal state.
Pop culture has become obsessed with memes. Name any scenario or situation, and you would find a meme online for the same. While the posts are usually made on a funnier note, few do end up making strong statements, all in one picture. Such was the case in the Twitter world since morning, after the news of BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis being sworn in as a CM for the second term came to the forefront. The ceremony was done in a hush-hush manner early this morning.
What's interesting and shocking, is that the BJP never made statements about forming a government in the state when they fell out with ally Shiv Sena post elections which the two parties contested together. The Shiv Sena leaders were confident that their government would be formed with NCP as an alliance. Leader Sanjay Raut and Uddhav Thackeray made very confident statements reassuring their MLAs. In an overnight twist of tale, the BJP has now formed a government in the state by forming an alliance with NCP - a move that nobody expected. BJP chief Amit Shah is rumoured to have led the talks with NCP's Ajit Pawar who is now the Deputy CM of Maharashtra.
As nobody saw this coming, social media erupted in memes about the whole situation. Funnily, people compared the situation with cricket and showed Shiv Sena getting run out. Another meme showcased Amit Shah as a 'smart investor.' in a finance-related meme.
Many leaders have opined that BJP's move was a back-stabbing move to the Sena. NCP leader Sharad Pawar washed his hand off of the issue and said that Ajit Pawar was solely to blame for the current situation, and that the party has opposed his move to ally with the BJP.
