Chandrani Murmu, a tribal woman from Keonjhar, Odisha has made history after bagging a Lok Sabha seat for herself at the age of 25 years, 11 months.

After completing engineering, Chandrani was seeking a job. However, she was fielded as a candidate by Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal (BJD), who then went on to defeat two-time BJP MP Ananta Nayak by a margin of 67,822 votes.

"I was in a search for a job after completing my engineering degree. I had never thought that I would enter politics and become an MP. My nomination was unexpected and came out of the blue," Chandrani said. Chandrani's father, Sanjiv Murmu, is a government employee and mother Urbashi Soren a housewife.
