What is interesting is the fact that despite being late to enter into the competition, the Maruti Vitara Brezza seems to have struck the right chord with Indian compact SUV buyers. In the very first month that the Vitara Brezza went into sale, it clocked approximately 5600 units.
What is interesting is the fact that despite being late to enter into the competition, the Maruti Vitara Brezza seems to have struck the right chord with Indian compact SUV buyers. In the very first month that the Vitara Brezza went into sale, it clocked approximately 5600 units.
It sold close to 8000 units in the month of April and approximately 7200 units in the month of May. In the month of June, due to production reasons, the Vitara Brezza could muster roughly around 6700 units.
The only real competition that the Maruti Vitara Brezza has is from the Ford EcoSport. The EcoSport has been raking in average sales of roughly of around 3500 units per month. The nationwide dealer network, spare parts availability, frugal performance from the engine, peaceful and reliable ownership, masculine and bold styling and being feature loaded has indeed served the Vitara Brezza and Maruti well.
In order to keep up with the increase in the bookings made and to clear up the pending delivery backlog, the production capacity of the Vitara Brezza has been upped from 1 lakh units to 1.20 lakh units per annum. Also, once the production at their Gujarat plant is in full swing, we can expect quicker delivery times and lesser waiting period than what it is as of now.
It is important to note that deliveries of only diesel powered Maruti Vitara Brezza is taking place as of now. Maruti does plan to introduce the petrol (BoosterJet) engine in some time which is the only chink in its armour as Hyundai and Ford do currently have petrol versions of the Creta and EcoSport respectively.
We do hope that the people who have rushed to Maruti dealership in anticipation of getting their hands on the Vitara Brezza are soon handed over the keys. As of now, the Vitara Brezza is doing a great job in competing with the Ford EcoSport.
