Add frozen banana slices to 1 cup of strawberry yoghurt. Next, add maple syrup or mixed fruit jam and then give the mixture a little spin in a mixer. Freeze the entire preparation for 4 hours and you’ve got yourself a delicious bowl of creamy goodness.
The heat is on, and so is the time to get inventive with summer coolers and other recipes that'll help us stay cool during the season. And nothing can get the job done quite like yoghurt! Not only is yoghurt a power food, brimming with healthy nutrients but also ideal for making a plethora of smoothies, frozen desserts, creamy dips and much more. And, on that note, here are 8 yoghurt recipes for you to first drool over and then try out in the kitchen, this summer.
Banana-Strawberry Frozen Yoghurt
Add frozen banana slices to 1 cup of strawberry yoghurt. Next, add maple syrup or mixed fruit jam and then give the mixture a little spin in a mixer. Freeze the entire preparation for 4 hours and you’ve got yourself a delicious bowl of creamy goodness.
Salted Caramel Yoghurt Popsicle
Heat salted caramel in the microwave for 20 seconds. Mix it with yoghurt and milk in a bowl. Heat some more caramel for about 10 seconds till it has a thick consistency. Swirl the new mix several times. Fill popsicle molds with the mixture and freeze.
Midwestern Cookie Salad
Not all salads are made from boring vegetables! To make a midwestern cookie salad, first beat some whipped cream till it’s flowy. Add sugar and salt and mix for a minute. Add about 2 cups of any fruit flavoured yoghurt, till the mixture is smooth. Add small bits (not crumbs) of chocolate cookies, strawberries, and any other berries you may like!
Honey Yoghurt + Walnuts
Toast a few walnuts till they get a golden colour. If you have an oven, use it to roast them, at 180 degrees for about 7 minutes. Put the toasted walnuts in a bowl and coat them with honey. Then, simply pour the mixture on some plain or flavored yoghurt of your choice!
Mango Yoghurt Smoothie
Cut up a mango up into small pieces and freeze half of them. Add the frozen half to the bottom of a glass. Mix mango flavoured yoghurt and honey in a blender. Add the mixture to the glass. Top it off with the unfrozen bits of mango. Your epic mango summer drink is ready!
Berries and Yoghurt Dip With Cake
Take a cup of strawberry yoghurt. Add it to an equal helping of whipped cream and whisk for a while. Refrigerate the mixture (don’t freeze it). Add chopped up berries to it and serve with sliced up pieces of fruit cake!
Cookie Dough Frozen Yoghurt
Mix butter with brown sugar in a bowl, until the mixture is all light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, mix flour, soda, salt and add chocolate chips. Use a blender to blend the two mixtures together. Now add it to a bowl of vanilla flavoured yoghurt and freeze overnight!
Peanut Butter and Banana Frozen Yoghurt
You can either use banana flavoured yoghurt or add sliced up bananas to plain yoghurt to make this. Pour the yoghurt into a food processor. Add slices of bananas, some salt, sugar, condensed milk, and of course, a generous helping of peanut butter into it. If you want, you can even add cookies or salty biscuits as well. Now, make a puree out of the mixture. Freeze for 4-5 hours, and it’s good to go!
