Ongole: Prakasam District Collector V Vinay Chand asked the bereaved families of various people who lost their lives in incidents of natural accidents like thunderbolts, to properly utilise the ex gratia provided by the government.
The Collector issued ex gratia to M Balamma, whose son M Guravaiah and his wife Guravamma, natives of Errabalem village in Donakonda mandal died due to thunderbolt on August 1.
He also issued ex gratia to Gunturu Suresh who lost his mother Gunturu Ramalingamma, villagers of Erraobanapalli in Darsi mandal by a thunderbolt on the same day. The Collector handed over documents of ex gratia to the tune of Rs 8 lakh to M Balamma and Rs 4 lakh to G Suresh.
The Collector, Vinay Chand asked the kin of the victims to best utilize the ex gratia issued by the government to them and use the money for the upgrading of their financial status.
Joint Collector S Nagalakshmi and Additional Joint Collector D Markandeyulu, DRO N Prabhakar Reddy and others participated in the programme.
