Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar directed the officials to remove all the encroachments within 48 hours of receiving complaints.

The Collector conducted the ‘Dial your Collector’ programme at the Collectorate here on Monday. It is reported that 32 persons from all over the district registered their grievances on various issues.

A villager from Puliramannagudem in Buttayagudem mandal complained that some people had encroached 4.5 acres of water tank in the village, causing the villagers to face an acute drinking-water problem. Reacting on the complaints, Collector directed the concerned officials to protect properties of irrigation, revenue, R and B, Panchayati Raj and other departments.

“The concerned officials should remove the encroachments within 48 hours after receiving the complaint from the people,” he reiterated.

G Gangadhar of Khandavalli village in Peravali mandal complained that the village secretary was collecting money from sand tractors by saying that the Collector issued a GO.

The Collector directed the District Panchayati Officer Mullapudi Venkataramana to conduct an inquiry and if found guilty, take action against the village secretary.
Joint Collector Pulipati Koteswara Rao, Joint Collector-II MH Sheriff, District Revenue Officer Katta Hymavathi and other officials participated in the programme.
