Sunendu Roy, working as a helper in the Signal & Telecommunication (wireless) department bagged the gold medal in Compound Category-individual ranking in the All India Railway Archery Championship being held at the CLW, Chittaranjan from December 20.

Vijayawada: Sunendu Roy, working as a helper in the Signal & Telecommunication (wireless) department bagged the gold medal in Compound Category-individual ranking in the All India Railway Archery Championship being held at the CLW, Chittaranjan from December 20.

“He has been selected for Indian Railway Archery team for the 3rd year in a row for senior national archery championship,” Chief Welfare Inspector N Arjuna Rao released an official statement.

He also qualified for finals in compound elimination round. Earlier, he secured bronze medal in 2016 (Bilaspur) and a gold medal in 2015 (Guwahati) in the same ranking compound category. Part of the Olga Archery Academy, he was appointed through sports quota in the Vijayawada Division.

A Raju of Secunderabad secured bronze medal in recurve elimination round.R Dhananjayulu, Divisional Railway Manager and MVS Rama Raju, additional divisional railway manager congratulated them on their win.
