Anna Canteen to offer meals at Rs 5 soon: MLA
MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao (Bujji) said that Anna Canteen would soon be opened in Eluru city. The MLA participated in the Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru meeting held in Phirangula Dibba in the 24th division on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that people would get meals or breakfast for Rs 5 in the canteens. “Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to open these canteens to provide food security to the poor people,” he stated. Anna canteens, which were supposed to be set up earlier, would be established in Eluru city in the first phase, as per government directives. “The delay happened due to reasons like preparing guidelines and other arrangements,” he stated.
Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan Pedababu said that the Government had decided to extend the technological revolution to benefit the deprived in the society. As part of this, the government had introduced fibre grid network and would be extending phone, internet and TV services for Rs 149 per month. “The facility has been introduced in Eluru city,” she added.
Cooption Member SMR Pedababu, Municipal Corporation Whip Gudavalli Srinivas, Corporators Dakarapu Rajeswara Rao, Kappa Umamaheswara Rao, TDP leaders RNR Nageswara Rao and others participated in the meeting. The MLA on the occasion distributed two autos, which were sanctioned under the self-employment scheme.
