UGC sponsors workshop on budgeting
The department of Economics of Siddhartha College of Arts and Science organised a one-day workshop on budgeting, which was sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on the college premises here on Thursday
Vijayawada: The department of Economics of Siddhartha College of Arts and Science organised a one-day workshop on budgeting, which was sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC) on the college premises here on Thursday. Siddhartha Academy General and Technical Education AO Prof LK Mohan Rao inaugurated the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, he explained about the importance of economics in the present scenario and said that economics should be taught along with mathematics.
While interacting with the students, he asked them to learn not only to earn but also for knowledge. In the first session, Prof MVN Sarma spoke about the importance of economics along with mathematics and explained about the basic concepts of budget.
Former HoD of the Department of Economics, V Ramesh, shared his memories and experience he had with department and college, and wished the students success. While Prof K Nageswara Rao explained the making process of the budget, Dr A Leela Mohan explained the deficit financing of the budget.
The college principal Dr M Ramesh, director V Babu Rao, Guest of Honor Prof L Mohana Rao congratulated the department for making good efforts in conducting the workshop. About 40 faculty members and 40 students from different colleges of Vijayawada, Guntur, Eluru, Ramayanapuram, Chilakaluripet and Tenali participated in the workshop.
