9,000 fresh applications for voter IDs
District Collector Kartikeya Mishra inspected voter registration special campaign centres at Sriram Nagar, Andalamma Junior College and Girls Polytechnic here on Sunday.
Kakinada: District Collector Kartikeya Mishra inspected voter registration special campaign centres at Sriram Nagar, Andalamma Junior College and Girls Polytechnic here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mishra told that a special campaign programme was held at 4,341 polling centres in the district to enrol new voters. A total of 9,020 Form- six applications were received so far. Out of which 2,845 applicants are in the age group of 18 to 19 years. As many as 6,175 applicants are above the age of 19 years.
Mishra said that the highest number of applications were received from Rajahmundry Urban constituency (1,114 applications) while the lowest number of applications were received from Razole constituency (199 applications). Mishra said that another round of special campaign on voter registration would be held on February 11. RDO Raghu Babu accompanied the Collector in the inspection of these centres.
