Acharya Nagarjuna University is seeking more funds under the block grant to develop infrastructure in the university and began exercise to prepare block grant from the state government. Following instructions of the state government, the university officials have been preparing the report seeking financial assistance. 

Guntur: Acharya Nagarjuna University is seeking more funds under the block grant to develop infrastructure in the university and began exercise to prepare block grant from the state government. Following instructions of the state government, the university officials have been preparing the report seeking financial assistance.

During the last year, the university asked Rs 120 crore financial assistance. The government released Rs 60 crore under this head. Taking this into consideration, the university officials decided to ask more financial assistance during this year. The state government will allot funds to the university in the state Budget for the financial year 2018-19.

Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Minister for Human Resources Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao have directed the ANU authorities to come to the university with the details of the block grant on the meeting to be held on the state budget on February 16. Based on the requirement, the officials are preparing the proposals. After taking this proposal into consideration, the government is likely to take a decision on the allotment of block grant.
