Oil conservation awards given to RTC staff
The Prakasam regional manager of the APSRTC, K Adam Saheb announced awards to the best performing fuel saving drivers, mechanics, safety driving instructors, garage in charges and depot managers on the closing day of Fuel Conservation Month on Thursday.

The RM said that fuel leakages would cost the corporation a lot and asked the drivers and mechanics to see that all leakages were addressed immediately. He also advised them to verify the air pressure in the tyres to save 15 percent of the fuel. He also asked them to stop the engine if the vehicle should stop for more than two minutes.
He advised the drivers to run the buses at 50 to 60 kmph speed to get the best mileage and asked them to achieve it gradually than rising the speed suddenly. He handed over awards to two drivers and one mechanic from each depot for saving fuel and maintaining best mileage. He also announced awards to two tyre mechanics from Podili and Giddalur for keeping them in best condition.
