Italian NGO distributes nutrition kits to HIV-affected kids
An Italian Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) ‘Care and Share Italia Onlus’ distributed nutrition kits to about 300 HIV infected and affected children at Indian Medical Association (IMA) hall here on Friday.
Vijayawada: An Italian Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) ‘Care and Share Italia Onlus’ distributed nutrition kits to about 300 HIV infected and affected children at Indian Medical Association (IMA) hall here on Friday.
Karnataka Health Promotion Trust (KHPT) state programme manager Mohan said there were about 12,000 children suffering from HIV in Krishna, Guntur and East Godavari districts. After close observation of children and their parents and care givers, they found that the children need nutritious food and education. In this regard, they organised the programme to distribute nutrition kits to the children.
C and S Foundation city manager Jose Mathew said children suffering from HIV should take ART medicines and they need nutritious food supplement which was very important. Care and Share Italia Onlus organisation had come forward to distribute nutrition kits to the children to give them good health and long life. Each kit would have food supplement which would last for one month. And the organisation had assured to supply these kits every month to the children suffering from HIV.
Care and Share Italia Onlus president Tomaso Carraro, vice-president Elisabetta Zegna, AP PLHIV network president A Ramesh, officials and children were present.
