RMC to issue marriage certificates
The Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner, V Vijayarama Raju has said that the corporation will issue marriage certificates free of cost if the newly-wed couple register their marriage within 30 days. The government authorised the municipal corporation for issuing of marriage certificates. Earlier, marriages were registered in Sub-Registrar offices.

The government authorised the municipal corporation for issuing of marriage certificates. Earlier, marriages were registered in Sub-Registrar offices.
The corporation charges an amount of Rs 100 to issue the marriage certificate 30 days after the marriage and up to 60 days. The corporation would issue the certificate within 24 hours. After 60 days, the marriages would be registered in Sub-Registrar offices only.
To register the marriage, the couple should submit a wedding card, receipt of respective Kalyana Mandapam, function hall etc, color passport photo of the couple, photos of the couple wearing garlands, age proof certificate along with two witnesses. The Commissioner appealed to the couples to get their marriage certificates from the corporation.
