Anantapuramu: Directing the officials to take stringent steps to see that admissions, permissions to colleges, merit and other such issues will be implemented as per rules, Minister for Primary Education S Sailajanath warned that the State government will take strict action against erring institutes that ignore the rules and regulations. He gave clear directions to the district officials in a review meeting held at the DWAMA Meeting Hall in Anantapuramu on Thursday.

The Minister directed the officials to gather information regarding the regulations being followed by the colleges regarding fees and admissions and report to him immediately. He directed the various colleges to follow the government rules in implementing reservations and to admit students based on their merit. Sailajanath said it was already suggested to form college committees with parents and fees should be collected as per the resolutions of this committee. The Minister said they will take strict action against private educational institutions with clear cut information within four days. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is obdurate on this issue and to implement in the entire State. The Minister directed the officials not to give permissions to Etechno, Concept Schools, IAS Academy and the like as per government rules. He told the officials to conduct inspections and to remove boards and banners regarding such schools. He strictly warned the private schools and colleges if they collect additional fees for other work books from students except the textbooks that were allowed by the State government. He directed DSP Dayananda Reddy to file criminal cases against schools and colleges that do not follow rules and regulations and to take steps. In-charge Collector S Satyanarayana, Anantapuramu Municipal Commissioner T Rangaiah, DSP Dayananda Reddy, REO Veerabhadraiah, Deputy DEO MV Subbareddy and officials of Education Department attended the meeting.
