He returns bag with Rs 87 lakh jewellery to cops

hon2Khammam: In a case of mistaken identity, a youth got hold of a bag containing jewellery worth Rs 87 lakh instead of another bag of same colour (black). When he opened the bag on reaching home, he got bewildered by the jewellery and immediately realised his mistake and handed over the bag to the railway police.

By then the owners of the bag had already approached the police to lodge a complaint of theft. As they got their precious bag back, they appreciated the youth. Railway SP Kantha Rao also patted the youth for his honesty.

The incident took place on Golkonda Express. Two persons S K Hussain and Mussamil belonging to Mohammed Khan & Sons jewellery shop were travelling with the bag from Guntur to Warangal. A youth Sondh also travelled in the same coach from Madhira to Bonakal.

Both travellers were carrying similar bags of black colour. Sondh was carrying his laptop in the bag. As the train reached Bonakal, he got down, but left the bag behind. As the train departed, he realised his folly, and immediately called up his friend Numan in Khammam to rush to the station and get hold of his laptop bag.

Accordingly, Numan went to the railway station and got into the coach. However, instead of picking up the laptop bag, he mistakenly picked up the jewellery bag. And the jewellery shop people also did not notice it.However, while the train started to move, they realised that their bag was missing and got down to lodge a complaint with the police.

Meanwhile, Numan reached home and opened the bag, only to find jewellery. Without a second thought, he promptly went back to the railway station and handed over the bag to the railway police. Railway SP Kantha Rao handed over the jewellery bag to its carriers. Everyone appreciated Numan for his honesty.
