Minister D K Aruna exhorted people to take the decision of the Congress party high command to the villages on the formation of Telangana state. Addressing a mammoth gathering here on Sunday, the minister said that the UPA government had taken a right decision on right time.
She recalled that during the 1969 agitation, she was a small girl and all her family members participated in the Telangana movement. Thanking the people for giving her an opportunity to serve them, the minister said that she had no parochial feelings and she would treat all regions equally.
After the formation of Telangana state, she would strive for the development of Telangana, she added. The minister said that she had prepared an action plan to complete all the pending irrigation projects to provide drinking and irrigation facilities for all villages.
The Telangana bill would be introduced in Parliament in four months even if there was no Assembly resolution, she added. The Minister participated in a victory rally from Erravalli Chourasta to the old bus stand in Gadwal town. Market committee chairman Gaddam Krishna Reddy, former municipal chairman B S Kesav, Bandala Venkatramulu, former councilors, partyleaders and others participated.
