AICC General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Digvijay Singh on Wednesday said Antony Committee Draft Report was ready. Shortly, he would meet Defence Minister A K Antony to discuss and finalise the report for submission to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana.
The AICC General Secretary confirmed that Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan met him. “I am grateful to His Excellency the Governor, who came to meet me. Yes we have discussed. But why should I reveal to the media,” he said. The concerns of people of Seemandhra would be fully addressed and to their satisfaction. Focus is on addressing their concerns and safeguarding their interests, so that the Telangana State formation could happen smoothly.
Singh said the Congress High Command expected the Seemandhra MPs and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to fall in line.” Although the MPs and the Chief Minister continue to remain defiant, the party expects they will see reason and abide by the CWC Resolution of July 30.” He reiterated that Kiran Kumar Reddy was a loyal Congressman and he would not go against the party. On Bhadrachalam area being affected by Polavaram Project and how the issue would be addressed in case Bhadrachalam was in Telangana and Polavaram Project in Andhra Pradesh, he said that it was not a big issue. “Polavaram Project has inter-State issues and areas coming under submersion are there in other states also. If one more State of Telangana is added to it, it will not be a major issue,” he said.
