Members of Samaikyandhra JAC and Visalandhra Mahasabha met here on Monday and released the poster for the forthcoming Delhi Siege programme.
Addressing the meeting of the students who staged protest demonstrations at Raj Vihar Centre here, JAC leader Somasekhar said that the integrationists would leave for Delhi in 25 buses on November 6.
He said that on the way the activists would stage ‘Telugu Dandora’ at Nagpur on November 7 and ‘Telugu Garjiddam’ at Bhopal on November 8.
Kattamanchi Janardhana Reddy, chief of Kattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy Educational Institutions, said that Samaikyandhra movement was born out of the unethical actions of the politicians.
Visalandhra Mahasabha general secretary Padiri Raviteja said that the Delhi Siege programme was taken up for the unity of Telugu people and for the united Andhra Pradesh. He said that the programme was intended to bring pressure on the Delhi leadership but not to beg them.
The students staged sit-in at Raj Vihar Centre wishing the Delhi Siege programme a grand success. The traffic on the main road has come to a standstill for hours.
Former mayor Bangi Anantaiah on Monday got half of his head shaved to mark his protest against the decision to divide the state. Sitting at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi here, Anantaiah said that Sonia Gandhi had become the chairperson of UPA since she was the wife of Rajiv Gandhi though she had no political experience.
Lambasting the Congress leader Digvijay Singh, the former mayor said that the senior Congress leader, who could not get his party elected in Madhya Pradesh, had no right to propose the division of the State.
He vowed that he would continue with the half shaved head till the decision to divide the State was dropped. He warned that the Congress party would become zero if it went ahead with the division of the State.
