YSR Congress Party on Tuesday criticised that the Congress high command was trying to divide the State even as it was reeling under havoc caused by Phailin and heavy rains.
Addressing the press here, party spokesperson Roja said that it was very unfortunate that the Centre had rushed its task force team to the State to speed up the bifurcation process instead of sending a central team of officials to study crop and property losses caused by the floods.
“The speed with which the Centre is moving over bifurcation in utter disregard for the peoples’ aspirations and the near three-month long Seemandhra agitation reveals that the State is being made the sacrificial goat for the sadistic pleasure of Congress which is determined to garner votes and seats at the cost of the people’s lives here,” she observed. Roja said the Congress leadership has embarked on a mission to gain votes in Telangana by banking on its bifurcation decision on one side and to gain political mileage in Seemandhra by trying to project Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as a champion of the unified state on the other. It was all because of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu who had given his letter of support for bifurcation, she remarked.
Flaying Kiran Kumar Reddy had been making futile attempts for being branded as an integrationist, Roja said people have already come to know of his double standards.
