T Bill in Winter Session: Dy CM, Telangana Bill. On Rayala-Telangana, the Deputy Chief Minister was dismissive, when pointed out that it was merely one of the several issues under the consideration.
Dismisses talk of Rayala Telangana
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister C Damodara Rajanarasimha on Saturday declared that the Telangana Bill would come up in the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament. The GoM and the Union Cabinet would finalise it soon. This was revealed by Damodara Rajanarasimha after his meetings with Defence Minister A K Antony and Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh.
Damodara Rajanarasimha said several issues were under the consideration of the Centre. These include Bhadrachalam, Polavaram, Rayala- Telangana and Backward Areas Package. On all these issues, he said, he held discussions. The GoM and the Union Cabinet would take the final call on all these issues. “Whatever decision is taken, we shall abide by it,” the Deputy Chief Minister stated.
On Rayala-Telangana, the Deputy Chief Minister was dismissive, when pointed out that it was merely one of the several issues under the consideration.
Sources, however, revealed that the thinking in the Government was to go by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) Resolution of July 30 and the Union Cabinet decision of October 3. In both the decisions, it is Telangana with 10 districts with Hyderabad as the capital.
The GoM, which was set up by the Cabinet, was a creature of the Cabinet and as such the GoM could not go beyond the purview of the Cabinet decision, it was pointed out. When the process was in the final stage, there was no possibility of changing the very basic decision of the Congress and the Cabinet, it was explained.
All the Telangana Congress leaders have been opposed to the concept of Rayala-Telangana. The concept of Rayala-Telangana has neither validity nor acceptability. Individual leaders are raising issues like Rayala- Telangana, to which neither the Congress High Command nor the government has responded. Leaders, who are meeting the various Central leaders and raising issues of their interest, are coming out and making statements to their advantage.
