Hyderabad: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) and TNGO leaders on Tuesday sought the cooperation of BJP and the CPI to reject the proposal of Rayala Telangana and force the government to give Telangana state consisting of 10 districts with Hyderabad as capital. TJAC leaders led by Prof M Kodandaram held a silent protest at Rajghat and later called on BJP president Rajnath Singh in Delhi and sought their support to oppose any move to create Rayala Telangana. He said both the regions had different culture and hence any move to merge them with Telangana would lead to new problems. Interestingly, the BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, talking to the media in Hyderabad, said that the BJP too was opposed to Rayala Telangana and would not support any such move.

He said, "There is a bigger conspiracy behind the proposal of Rayala Telangana. This proposal has been mooted only to stall the process of formation of Telangana State.

We are opposing this proposal tooth and nail. There will be large-scale protests across Telangana if the Centre did not drop the proposal,” he added. The TJAC leaders also met CPI general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy in Delhi and urged him to oppose Rayala Telangana proposal.

Apart from TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, several TNGO leaders took part in the protest demonstration and denounced the Centre's proposal to create Rayala Telangana. Meanwhile, apart from the TRS, which is spearheading the T-movement, several other political parties also rejected the Rayala Telangana proposal.
