Hyderabad: The decision of the Union Cabinet to bifurcate the State by creating Telangana with 10 districts and Hyderabad as capital has left the Seemandhra leaders high and dry.
They feel that despite their lobbying, they had failed in extracting any concession from the Centre, including UT status for Hyderabad. The Seemandhra union ministers MM Pallam Raju, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, K Chiranjeevi, D Purandeswari and Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy are likely to meet on Friday and take a decision on their future course of action. It may be mentioned here that these ministers had resigned in the past but were asked not to press for acceptance by the Prime Minister promising that full justice would be done to the Seemandhra region. These ministers are now contemplating to meet President Pranab Mukherjee and submit their resignations afresh.
Another option they are examining is to resign from the union cabinet as they feel that the party leadership had let them down. However, it is learnt that there is no unanimity on the issue of resignations of Ministers like V Kishore Chandra Deo, Panabaka Lakshmi, J D Seelam and Killi Krupa Rani. They are said to be opposed to resign from the council of ministers. These ministers are of the opinion that, instead of putting in their papers, they should henceforth focus their attention to extract a huge financial package for their region and identify suitable place for the capital city of the residuary State.
