Hyderabad: The Hyderabad and Cyberabad police have imposed traffic restrictions on party-goers and general public on the eve of the New Year.
All flyovers in the city and Tank Bund on Hussain Sagar Lake would be out of bounds from 10 pm on December 31 to 2 am on January 1, according to Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma.
Traffic coming from VV Statue to Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road. Motorists moving from BRK Bhavan to NTR Marg will be diverted towards Iqbal Minar, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya junction.
Motorists travelling from Liberty junction to Secunderabad will be diverted at the MCH Office Y junction towards BRK Bhavan, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi, Lakdikapul and Ayodhya Hotel.
Traffic from Khairatabad Market to Necklace Road will be diverted at Khairatabad towards Meera Talkies lane. The Mint compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for vehicular traffic.
Traffic from Nallagutta Railway Bridge to Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Ministers Road.
Motorists from Secunderabad to Tank Bund will be diverted at Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda Crossroads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma Temple, Ashok Nagar and RTC Crossroads. The traffic police will also conduct anti-drunken driving checks throughout the city.
ORR will be closed for light motor vehicles and passenger vehicles. All flyovers in Cyberabad will also be closed.
