Nellore: A resident of Kavali, Vakati Srinivasula Reddy (35) committed suicide, in support of Samaikyandhra, by hanging from the ceiling fan in a lodge near Atmakur bus-stand, here on Sunday.
Reddy was found hanging on Tuesday, after foul smell emanated from the room. The lodge owner got the room door broken by the Two Town police to find the body. The victim, who left a suicide note, was last seen on January 19 taking food. According to police, Reddy, son of Subba Reddy, hailed from Puchchalapalli Second Street, had been staying in the lodge since January 6. He had paid the bill till January 15. A ‘Samaikyandhra’ slogan was found written on his vest. Reddy’s identity was established with the help of the Aadhaar card in his pocket.
The suicide note appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, P Ashok Babu(APNGOs’ Association president), TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy not to divide the State. It said had NTR and YSR been alive they would have ensured a unified State. Police have registered a case.
