The speculation surrounding the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy came to a dramatic end when Kiran announced his decision to bid adieu to the Congress party in a press meet held in Hyderabad.

Amid curious media persons and his supporters, Kiran Kumar Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to keeping the state united.

He came down heavily on Congress party for playing with the sentiments of Telugu people and making the future dark for the state by butchering Andhra Pradesh.

Kiran Kumar Reddy concluded his speech when he said:

"I am indebted to Congress for giving me the CM post. However, for playing with the sentiments of people, dividing Telugu brothers and making the future dark for Andhra Pradesh, I am submitting my resignation to the posts of MLA, CM and also Congress party."

Interestingly, this statement evoked a round of applause from the media persons. It's not clear if they were amused or happy with the CM's decision. Perhaps even the CM was taken aback by the loud claps.
