Jagan to play YSR card; Telangana tour from March 4?

As announced at the party’s second plenary at the YSR family estate in Kadapa recently, Jagan would soon visit Telangana to strengthen his party's base in the region.

He held a discussion with the leaders from Telangana region today at his Lotus Pond residence. Jagan met in-charges of districts and members of CEC, CGC to enquire about the political situation in the region and discuss how to go about the election campaign.

During the meeting, several leaders are understood have told Jagan that it is better to play on the YSR scheme sentiments instead of the Telangana sentiment during the tour. It's a known fact that YSR Schemes are widely popular across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

As Jagan's party has stuck to Samaikyandhra stand, Jagan should maintain tight-lipped on Telangana issue. As the YSR sentiment is still alive in the region, Jagan should focus more on YSR's schemes rather than Telangana several YSRCP leaders feel.

It is learnt that Jagan will hold a huge public meeting in Khammam on March 4. On March 5, he will begin his “Odarpu” Yatra from Nalgonda.

Meanwhile, his party activists and supporters are preparing the ground for the tour and also exploring possibilities to overcome the Telangana heat.
