Hyderabad: It is going to be a year of bountiful crops and plenty of rains for the Telugu people. Giving his predictions for the ‘Jaya Nama Samvatshara’ at the ‘Panchanga Sravanam’ organised at Raj Bhavan on the eve of the Telugu New Year Day – Ugadi, Dr Sagi Kamalakar Sharma, renowned scholar, said that the people would lead a happy life throughout the Year.
The king is moon. Hence there will be plenty of rains and abundance of all kinds of crops and vegetation. People would be happy and prosperous. The Jaya Nama Samvatsara would usher in prosperity for all sections of people. There was need for due focus on law and order. There would be scope for new thoughts and new economic policies, he said Governor ESL Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan extended their greetings to the people. Chief Secretary PK Mohanty, DGP Prasada Rao and many senior officials took part in the event. Deepika Reddy and her team who performed “Harihara Vaibhavam” were felicitated by the Governor.
