Hyderabad: The caste politics have been put a match to a war inside the Congress Party in Telangana. The same has been at its peak as the elections are approaching. The war that began with the allocation of seats has become more prominent when priority was given to Reddy community in the allocation of seats. Though Congress Party has been singing the slogan of social justice, when the time has come to prove their limpidness, the party has been annulling its own stand. The equal justice in the distribution of seats was not followed, which ultimately led the BCs fuming over the issue.

Reportedly, Congress Party has chanted the BC mantra to counter Telugu Desam Party which has taken BCs stand by declaring a BC to be the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate of Telangana.

As a result, the Telangana PCC Chief post was given to Ponnala Lakshmaiah, while giving the working president post to Uttam Kumar Reddy. Moreover, keeping their own stand of allocating only one seat for each family aside, the Congress Party high command has allotted two seats to Uttam Kumar and his wife, respectively. Also, the BC leaders in the party are of the opinion that Ponnala was not given due importance in allocation of seats to the candidates for the imminent elections.
