It may be recalled that there were heavy rains last week in Andhra Pradesh and the EC could not take proper measures to verify the condition of the ballot boxes.
As per sources in the East Godavari district at Pedapudi mandal, Ballot boxes were found inundated with water. Also in West Godavari district , Penugonda -1 , Nidadavulu, Korumamidi, Tadimalla water filled Ballot boxes. Election officials are trying to dry the voting slips under the fan. Although it is a known fact that it is very difficult to dry and count the votes, yet election officials are trying their best to rescue the ballot papers.
On the other hand, the contestants are fuming and expressed their dissatisfaction over the way the ballot boxes are being safeguarded.
It is also heard that the ballot boxes consists of more than 10,000 votes and if the election commission fails to count all the votes chances of re-poling might happens, say political analysts.
