Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj K Taraka Rama Rao promised a new IT policy to invite major investments to the State. The State government would hold meetings with business and industry heads after conclusion of the Assembly session to finalise the new IT policy, he said. Representatives and experts from IT sector called on Taraka Rama Rao in his chambers at Secretariat here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, KTR said Hyderabad was an established software hub that still had huge potential for growth and expansion.

“About five lakh new jobs will be created with the new policy of the government. Renowned institutions like ISB and IIIT having their establishments here are a reflection of city growth. An aggressive industrial policy will be devised in consultations with FAPCCI and CII bodies,” the Minister stated. Little Giant Ladders to set up unit Meanwhile, the US-based Wing Enterprises, producer of Little Giant Ladder System, is making foray into the Telangana State with its maiden venture to be set up near Medchal.

The company representatives met the IT Minister KTR at the Secretariat here on Friday. KTR said that the US company would invest Rs 300 crore to create around 1,000 jobs. The TRS government is proposing to make Hyderabad an innovation hub by setting up business incubation facility, IT secretary, Harpreet Singh said. KTR held discussions with IIIT director PJ Narayan and ISB Dean Ajit Rangnekar in this connection. Meanwhile, KTR informed that President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be invited for Telangana State Formation celebrations.
