Stalker Attempts to Kill Woman. A married woman, Tirupatamma of Korni in Gara mandal of Srikakulam district, travelling in a bus along with her son, became a victim of murder attempt by her alleged stalker Malleswara Rao, near Jonnalapadu, in the mandal, on Monday.

Srikakulam: A married woman, Tirupatamma of Korni in Gara mandal of Srikakulam district, travelling in a bus along with her son, became a victim of murder attempt by her alleged stalker Malleswara Rao, near Jonnalapadu, in the mandal, on Monday. The youth, rendered unconscious after a suicide attempt by stabbing self, was admitted to RIMS along with Tirupatamma. The Gara police registered a case against him, after the victim lodged a complaint, SI Chinnama Naidu said.

Rao was allegedly harassing the womanwith whom he became friendly during her frequent trips to a court in connection with a case involving her husband to satisfy his lust.
He had also allegedly tried to prevail upon Tirupatamma to desert her husband and live with him. When she refused, Rao allegedly resorted to attack with a knife holding out a threat to kill her, the SI said.
After the incident created a sensation, Srikakulam in-charge DSP Sridevi visited RIMS and conducted an inquiry.
