Corporator held for rape bid, Municipal Corporator Devarakonda Ashok of the 53rd division was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly trying to molest a school teacher , who had approached him to redress her grievance.

Nellore: Municipal Corporator Devarakonda Ashok of the 53rd division was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly trying to molest a school teacher , who had approached him to redress her grievance. He had laid down the condition that she satisfies his lust. Police nabbed Ashok after the victim lodged a complaint.
The incident took place a week back after the teacher met the corporator to render justice in a police case involving her husband. Ashok asked her to come to a hotel near Atmakur bus-stand with money, trying to convince the victim that the amount could be paid to the other party as settlement. After noticing the woman’s husband, the corporator allegedly laid down a condition that she alone should enter the hotel room. He made an attempt to violate her, along with a leader claiming to be a protector of Girijan rights. The shocked teacher ran out of the hotel room screaming. She lodged a complaint to the Three Town police, who registered a case.
