Jilted lover shoots at woman

Kuppam: A woman of Yanadi Colony in Ramakuppam mandal of Chittoor district, Satya, sustained serious leg injuries after Bhupathi (25) of the same village allegedly opened fire at her on Wednesday.

The youngster was peeved after she turned down his love overtures. He used a country weapon to open fire when the victim was busy grazing sheep on the village outskirts. Satya, who used to help poor Sheppard in cattle-rearing, was shifted to the government here. Her condition was serious, doctors said. The police are searching for Bhupathi, who bore a grudge against Satya, whom he had been harassing in the name of love for quite some time.
