Patient Weighing 237 kg Awaits Help for Surgery. A patient, Musuni Satyanarayana (49) of Mandapeta in East Godavari, who is tenant farmer, weighs about 237 kg.
Vijayawada: A patient, Musuni Satyanarayana (49) of Mandapeta in East Godavari, who is tenant farmer, weighs about 237 kg.
After numerous efforts and spending a whopping amount on treatment, he was admitted to Endocare Hospital, to undergo bariatric surgery.
He is awaiting financial support from public. The hospital decided to operate free of cost, bariatric Suregon Dr K Ravikanth told reporters here on Thursday
The hospital would bear all the operation and in-patient expenses.
The patient was looking for financial aid to meet post-operation and medicine expenses, he said.
Satyanarayana has been diagnosed with severe leg infection, which is being cured.
‘All his vital organs are under immense stress. He is a renal failure patient. The operation is to reduce the body load by cutting the stomach size. His ideal weight should be 75 kg, said Dr Ravi Kanth.
Satyanarayana needs expenses of Rs 5 lakh. The surgery will be scheduled in15 days. Donations can be made to the patient directly at the hospital, he added.
Endocrinologist Dr Kota Sunil was present.
