Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday urged the leaders of TDP and said that no differences of opinions were wished-for as the decision on the new capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh would be collectively taken by the party, considering the interests of the entire people of the state.
From the other end, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, the Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday opined that the Sivarama Krishnan Committee’s report on the capital of residuary Andhra Pradesh was meant only for providing the guidelines on the subject matter. He said that the final decision on the state new capital would be taken by Andhra Pradesh state government. He also said that the centre would take a decision on the capital issue following the discussions with the state government.
Yanamala said that similar to the Srikrishna Committee’s report which had many options, Sivarama Krishnan committee also provided many options out of which the best one will be selected. Yanamala responded to the concerns raised about environment and the pollution and said that wherever may be the place, the area will be polluted wherever the capital will be built. He also opined that the surrounding places would develop if the capital is built at any place surrounded by few small towns. He said that if the opposition party has any concerns about the new capital, the same may be taken to Sivarama Krishnan committee’s knowledge, as there was no need for the government to consider the views of opposition on the capital issue.
