Bhuma 4th leader from Kurnool dist to head PAC
Nandyal YSRCP legislator Bhuma Nagi Reddy is the fourth leader from the district to assume charge as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Kurnool: Nandyal YSRCP legislator Bhuma Nagi Reddy is the fourth leader from the district to assume charge as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). It is a precedent that an Opposition MLA is selected for the PAC chairman’s post. The committee reviews how department-wise funds are spent.
Stalwrats from the district like Erasu Ayyapu Reddy, K Subba Reddy and K E Krishnamurthy headed the PAC in the past. Ayyapu Reddy was the Lok Sabha PAC chairman for three years from 1985.Subba Reddy was the chairman for two years from 1993 and Krishanmurthy in 2012.
Nagi Reddy made a political debut as the single window chairman in Rudravaram mandal. Later, he was elected Allagadda MPP president and MLA from Allagadda on the TDP ticket in 1984. He was elected recently from Nandyal Assembly constituency.
