Addressing a media conference here, Padma Priya, a B.Tech graduate from Gitam University, gave a graphic account of how her husband Kodela Sivarama Krishna, his friend Mallikharna Rao, besides some rowdies from Narasaraopet, had broken open the doors of her house here and assaulted her and her mother Varlakshmi and took away her son forcibly. When her mother went to the rescue of her son, Gautam, the assailants had beaten her, Padma Priya said.
She further said she was married to Sivarama Krishna, who was already a divorcee, on August 6, 2009. The marriage was soleminised in Tirupati. At the time of marriage, her parents had given a huge amount of cash as dowry and about 200 tolas of gold, besides Rs 10 lakh as gift to her sister-in-law. The alliance was facilitated by S Koteswara Rao of Vikas Concept School, he said.
With tears rolling her cheeks, she alleged that the kidnap of her son was well-planned and executed with the knowledge of the Speaker Siva Prasada Rao. She narrated how she was harassed, tortured and humiliated from day one after the marriage at her in-laws’ place at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. She said she had gone back to her husband following mediation by some persons. But she was harassed by her sister-in-law and her in-laws had driven her out in July, 2012. Well-wishers had tried to bring together her and husband. But again, she was subjected to torture when she went back to live with her husband. Ultimately, she was driven out in May, 2013, she bewailed.
