Hyderabad: In a significant development towards improving infrastructure facilities in power sector, the Power Finance Corporation (PFC), GoI on Thursday assured full support to Andhra Pradesh government by extending huge loan of Rs 15,000 crore for a span of two years period, which paves the way for providing highly qualitative, reliable and adequate power supply to the general public.

As part of this initiative, a high-level delegation headed by M K Goel, Chairman & Managing Director, PFC held detailed discussions with AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and expressed their satisfaction over the development of AP power sector.

Of the Rs 15,000 crore loan, the PFC would give Rs 7,000 crore for transmission, Rs 3,000 crore for power generation and Rs 5,000 crore for distribution.

In addition to this, the PFC has immediately responded to the request of Naidu by assuring to provide special financial assistance under corporate social responsibility towards development of IT, Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency and agriculture solar pumpsets for enhancing the stability of systems in power sector.

The Chief Minister directed the Secretary, Power G Sai Prasad to take immediate steps to workout modalities for obtaining the above financial assistance from PFC and immediately depute an official team to Delhi.
