Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday issued a GO, issuing guidelines for reimbursement of fees for the academic year 2014-15.

The latest guidelines make disclosure of Aadhaar number of the student, as also those of his/her father and mother, mandatory in the applications for both fresh and renewal of scholarships.

GO Ms No. 72 has been issued by the AP Social welfare department for the scheme of sanctioning Post -Matric Scholarships to the SC, ST, BC, EBC, Minority and Physically challenged students, by way of reimbursing the tuition fee and maintenance fee. The GO said the enhanced income-ceiling limit of Rs 2 lakh per annum in respect of SC and ST students would continue to be in force.

The GO came a day after the Telangana government made public that fees reimbursement would be made for the students of Andhra Pradesh as well. Telangana Education minister G Jagadeesh Reddy, however, made it clear that the fees so reimbursed to AP students would be recovered from the AP government on 42:58 basis.

Likewise, the GO said: “Post-Matric scholarships shall be sanctioned to the students belonging to Telangana, who are “local” to Andhra Pradesh and are studying in institutions located in Andhra Pradesh”. All the students applying for fresh post-Matric scholarships shall enclose the Income Certificates issued, after June 2, 2014, by the Tahsildar through the Mee Seva.

Students must also disclose and enter their PAN number, if they have. Otherwise, they should furnish the number of their parents. The guidelines also make it mandatory for the students to disclose and enter registration number of four-wheelers, if any.
